attend是个动词，其第三人称单数是attends，现在分词是attending，过去式是attended，过去分词是attended。
其有四种含义：
1、attend的意思为“出席，参加”。
当attend意为“出席，参加”时，其多指出席会议、参加学术活动、听课等。
例句：
to attend a wedding/funeral
参加婚礼 / 葬礼
Please let us know if you cannot attend the meeting.
你若不能参加会议，请通知我们。
2、attend的意思为“经常去，定期去(某处)”。
比如去上学，就能用这个attend school来表示。
例如：
Amy wouldn't go so far as to refuse to attend school.
她不至于不来上学。
3、 attend的意思为“处理，料理(事情);照顾，护理(受伤的人)”。
当attend是这种含义时，其后通常接to，即attend to sb/sth。
例子：

4、attend的意思为“随同，陪同”。
当attend是这种含义时，其多指下级陪同上级。
例子如下：
The President was attended by several members of his staff.
